Have both the cherry picker and load lever. Also, look at the adapter for a floor jack to convert it to a transmission jack. I found these items really helpful when I needed them.

Ungh. I'm getting really confused! Hoists, pickers, levelers! Maybe I'll stick with shirts and a Bass Pro GC!

J.B. whitworth or British Standard tools are only necessary on the much older LBCs. You might find some B.S. sized hardware on your S.U.s but that's probably about it.
I got my engine crane at Sams Club. It's a Goodyear Racing named, folding type. I'm very pleased with it so far. Good price too.

How about a bigger garage to keep all his toys in?

Maynard, you have the best idea of all. I'm already trying to convince him to extend the back of the garage another 10 or so feet, to the end of the patio.

I still think he needs a BBQ grill shaped like a 'rumph!!!

Uh huh. Great idea. Oh WAIT! Why don't we just USE a 'rumpf for a grill?

Darwin, I want to see one!
Jaybird, I don't ever want to see one!

Next year when Hammerstone's (in the Soulard area of STL) has their annual car show, I'll show you their 'cargrill.' Literally converted into a big, honking grill/smoker. Thankfully it's not a LBC!

The only Whitworth thingies I know of on a B are the plugs on the shock dampers. IIRC the SU's are all SAE.

I need to try and figure out what sort of ...meter he just bought a month or so ago!

this is my first attempt to add a picture-if it works there will be a picture of a typical multimeter attached to this post

Worked perfectly Don. Now I'll just go out and dig about in the garage to see if he has one!! Thanks!

Okay, we have a Haynes manual. Do we need a Bentley? Something on repairs? That "Official Workshop Manual?" Or some sort of MGB restoration manual?

how bout the "How to Power Tune Mgb 4-Cylinder Engines" book by Peter Burgess? Could contain some useful information for making yours and his (or is that one yours too? :p ) MGBs a little bit faster... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
