Have both the cherry picker and load lever. Also, look at the adapter for a floor jack to convert it to a transmission jack. I found these items really helpful when I needed them.
Ungh. I'm getting really confused! Hoists, pickers, levelers! Maybe I'll stick with shirts and a Bass Pro GC!

J.B. whitworth or British Standard tools are only necessary on the much older LBCs. You might find some B.S. sized hardware on your S.U.s but that's probably about it.
I got my engine crane at Sams Club. It's a Goodyear Racing named, folding type. I'm very pleased with it so far. Good price too.
Maynard, you have the best idea of all. I'm already trying to convince him to extend the back of the garage another 10 or so feet, to the end of the patio.
Next year when Hammerstone's (in the Soulard area of STL) has their annual car show, I'll show you their 'cargrill.' Literally converted into a big, honking grill/smoker. Thankfully it's not a LBC!
