BN7 - Basic Carb Settings

Having fitted refurbished standard carbs to my BN7's rebuilt engine, and set timing, and confirming fuel to the carbs, I've failed to get the engine to run.

Its dawned on me that I've assumed the "new" carbs are set up!

I would like to "base-line" the carb settings to get the engine running. Any advice on the correct sequence for establishing the basic carb setting would be much appreciated.

(Twin HD6's fitted)

thanks
Dace

One other thing to consider is the distributor being 180 degrees off. BTDT

I start with the jet being at the bridge and move it open (down) two full turns each. Enrich as needed with equal turns. The resting idle is also adjusted two fill turns to start I think, then set to about 600 rpm. There are many thing written on the subject in all the manuels.
Greg is correct and also check the wires inside the dizzy and the sequence of the insulators on the points.
