Will the 12a fit in a spridget without modifying the car??

Kurt.

without modifying the car? no. but it can be done with minimal changes to the car. both the 13b and the 12a will fit relatively easily without having to cut the crossmember or cut up the transmission tunnel.

But you'll notice he's fixed the weak link from a Rotary Transplant

rear disc brakes
LSD.

It's going to be a very loud screamer.

A guy told me years ago that a RX3 motor and trans was virtually a drop in while the later ones required mods. Don't know if that is so and if it is I doubt you can find any RX3's now. I know where there is one but it has an auto trans.

Kurt.

I think any of the 12a's would be a relatively easy fit. even the 13b's wouldn't be too difficult if you are using a front cover mount from a GSL-SE. The key to not having to cut the transmission tunnel is using the tails haft housing from a early 80's b2000 pickup or a rwd 626. I used the tail housing from an '82 626.

Porn! (Basillllll)

Looks awesome! :banana: (but dust that engine bay would ya! :nonono: your mother could be watching)

Agreed, some kind of kinky porn.

Oh yeah that looks sweet, I've been waiting for this build to pick up some steam! I love the fit. And yes the 13B fits nicely as well.

<snork>

guilty your honour

So, after taking some time off to build a house, sell that house, move 3 times, buy a house out of foreclosure and start remodeling it, I have finally restarted my sprite restomod project. Not a whole heck of a lot of progress, still have the chromed dash, still have the 60's era Rader mags. The 12A rotary has been buttoned up, the brake and clutch hydraulic lines have all been plummed to the new wilwood master cylinders, an aluminum scirocco radiator has been mounted in the nose along with a 19 row oil cooler.

Next major hurdles will be installing a street rod wiring harness and plumbing a fuel line from the trunk mounted fuel cell to the carb. Ive switched to an OER 45 sidedraft carb instead of the 4 barrell holley or the original nikki.
