Is there a tool to remove the fill/drain plugs on a MKIII Midget?
How do you remove the bump stops on the rear axle?
What size nut holds the air filter covers together? (can't remember-
where I put it).

Grind down a ratchet extension:

The rear bump stops just pop off. If they are real hard, you may need to cut them off.

+1 on the 1/2 inch ratchet extension -- works like a charm. I was able to pry out my front bump stops with a screwdriver. I had no intention of replacing them, so if I destroyed them in the process, it was no great loss.

Stock air cleaner bolts or the "competition" type of air cleaner?

I was afraid that you'd say that (grinding down an extension),
I even tried the local Snap -On guy - no luck
The bump stops don't do anything?
The air cleaner assemblies are stock - I just misplaced the nut.

Yes the bump stops do something. To clarify though ... you are speaking about the rear axle bump stops. When I cut them off (I cut the bumpstops themselves), I replaced them with new ones.

On the aircleaner nut, I do not know the original size ... just use one that fits.

There are multi-tools that can remove various plugs. I'll find a link to one in a minute.

ummm... ok, on that tapered plug wrench. The only ones I could find were in Australia and the UK. So, buy a cheap extension and start grinding/filing.

Snap-On? Good thing they didn't have one. Probably be a 100 bucks instead of a ground down $1.39 Harbor Freight extension.
