T-Series 1953 MG TD Reassembly - CONTINUOUSLY UPDATED

I thought "Fonzi" was the only one to park his bike in the living room!

That is the nicest piece of art i have ever seen in a living room.

(Excluding that couch from the eBay add of course...)

Finishing the glove box door is a trick as both sides are cevered & then the little metal band is nailed on.

ahh another piece I still need to locate - glove box trim & knob.

At least I just picked up the air plenum for the air cleaner. One more part of the list & the Air cleaner is next hopefully.

No luck finding the guys name yet for the grille. I have to go home & find it maybe in my emails.

I'll let the photos speak for themselves:

A few odds & ends to do to finish the interior (glove box door, seat back items, shift lever, clean up edges of panel trim, etc.) but we're now gonna paint the side curtain frames, top bows, & tonneau bar.

Oh, I need photos of the back of the seat with the tonneau bar installed (& measurements for locating bar) & the engine crank handle attached in its clips.

Its looking more like a car every day...I even sat in it today & adjusted the seat back & steering wheel to fit me!!

Pretty steering wheel Tony. Is it a Moss repro?

Yep but the center cap is original to my old wheel.

Yep - it had 1 like a little washer...right now I'm trying to find the little retaining bolt that holds the cap to the steering wheel.

...& I'm real happy with the Moss aftermarket wheel!

Oh, no, I've not taken that apart - it didn't need to be done...but I have 1 thin paper 'washer' that goes between the entire cap & the wheel....but, yours looks like metal & mine looks like ivory.

The center cap is chrome the center- cener is a chrome ring that holds the molded plastic MG logo. Under the logo is a rubber washer and the tree paper picture spacers to keep it all tight.

vping...I forgot to post these photos of my horn button:

& here's what it looks like now...we've put the color the grille slats are on the side curtain frames - except without clear coat - so that when the factory original color arrives all we have to do is scuff them & spray. If you look behind the seat, you can see the slats laying on the floor of the car.

The little green pieces of tape are places where the bodyshop will correct little scratches I've made during assembly...they'll do that while I'm out of town next week.

That might be the difference - mine's a '53.
