It's hard to believe that our Miata will be 29 years old
later this year.
 
My old Jag will be 69, Plymouth Valiant 62, Triumph GT6 54.

Here in Ohio, you can get antique plates once it's 25yo. I'll be moving to year of manufacture plates for my stuff. I even found plates for the 38 MG once it is redone.

Nothing bought new, but I have had the Sunbeam Alpine since summer of 74, first car when in high school.
 
I was just turning 17 the end of summer 74, got the Alpine about a month before my birthday. But I thought it was completely unique in comparison to what others at the high school had so my folks let me get it. I say they deserve the credit, or blame depending on your viewpoint, for starting me down the LBC path.

I've always had a problem with the idea of the midlife crisis. I bought my Miata not because I wanted to be young again, but because my kids were old enough I no longer was forced to drive a Toyota so I could fit them all into one car. I kept my Triumphs for as long as possible after my kids came along, but it simply wasn't sustainable with four kids. I think that most guys that go for an older car when they hit this stage of life are simply getting something that they had to give up for various reasons, or something they always wanted but couldn't afford. And, mid life is the point that most of us stop living paycheck to paycheck and have fewer responsibilities to others (namely our kids).
