I recently replaced my incorrect headlamp trims with the correct deeper ones with a rivet in the top. . They look much better but I still have the ugly edge of the headlamp bowl gasket showing around its edge . My questions are:-
are the gaskets on an aftermarket plastic headlamp bowl bigger in diameter than originals?
can I get smaller ones ?
should I use the rubber dust shields that are available to go inside the trims?
shall I change back to the metal two piece bowls?

PS. I have Wipac Quadoptic H4 headlamps.

Hi Andy
I have the reverse problem with my AH 100/6 longbrige- rubber was a little small and I have a gap, from body and crome trim of the head lamp-
solved with a ring of black eletrical wire as the photos, with a thermic sheath on the joint
Clearly, there are one mistake or in the crome trim diameter, or in the rubber gasket, or in the body panels
luckily for me, the results of my MOD was acptable,(see the last photo) - but what is wrong, question, is unsolved

I have a similar problem. What did you use to hold the electrical wire in place while you tightened everything down?

Thanks for the replies although it seems the gasket I have is different than those you are both having problems with. Today I found headlamp bowl gaskets with widths at 32 mm and 27 mm on a uk website. https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/993

I need to check mine to establish if they are the wider land ones in which case my problem is solved . I may resort to cutting down the diameter if all else fails. Perhaps the wide land ones would help you two guys.

HI Glenn
The diameter of the wire ring are very tight to the rubber gashet diameter and have aprox the same height-
so the wire black plastic covered (+/- 3mm diameter )-stay just over the rubber, pressed from the body and the Chromed rim,
At the observers it appear as that the rubber gashet have the RIGHT diameter.
No other system was needed to fix it in place that press it over the rubber gashet, previous fixed in position by the head lamp, and then the crome ring press it in inamovible position
(obvious, the joint must be tourned in the underside of the head lamp - to hide it)

Gashet Rubber - on the bench-fixed in position by needles an adhesive rib - to have the wire ring right diameter

That's kinda what I figured but seeing your picture out of the car made me curious. Thanks for the creative solution.
