i used the same bracket. i just bent another piece of metal, cut to the same width, and put a flange on each end. added it in as an extension.
basically just adding a piece to make the loop bigger. then put it right over the alternator the same way. my bracket looks a little different than yours though. you would have to bend one of your flanges to work. Or take a piece of flat metal and bend your own. just a bigger loop.
a number of other people mounted the coil to the upright brace for the fender that is next to the diz.

The part shown in the drawing is my copy of the C40 generator coil mounting bracket duplicated to fit an alternator. In my case the part is on my Mini.
