I sure wish I could weld like that or had a TIG to make those kinds of welds. Some year.

That's a good place for learning more about this kind of stuff.
Jim, having a tig welder and making welds like that are two totally different things.
I have a tig welder and I practice a good bit, but I'm at least a few years away from getting even close to that around tubing. Straight lines are easier, but still hard.

I really like the simple way you've mounted it up to your chassis table. Printing those blocks for jigging is really clever, it's one of the best uses I've seen for a small fdm style printer. I print things a couple of times a week for other uses and I now have more uses, so thanks.
Odds are that if you were in R&D for Polaris we have mutual friends. Their design director needs to have you build his Sunbeam Alpine for him.

We'd love to be able to do more of this work. CAD is good, but nice getting our hands dirty. Odds are really good I know him or know of him. They just have so many directors now, you could be talking about a bunch of people! Removable front cross member coming together. Might need some persuasion for removal...

Are those interlocking tube clamps certified for any safety applications (like door bars)?
 
Your TIG work looks very nice but I don't see the "stacked dimes". Thanks for that....I've been trying for years and pretty well gave up!!

With the main chassis welded up, time to move onto the motor and transmission mounts.

Main chassis setting at its ride height now, looks to be around 6-7"? What wheel and tire size are you planning to run?

It's not setup at ride height. I'll have to double check the wheel/tire combo. A little late but we finally have some drawings on the wall.

I'm assuming that the small top tubes are temporary and when I see the size of that lump I'm wondering if it shouldn't get some diagonal bracing across the door openings. Is the original frame going to add to the stiffness?? As is I think it would be a bit flexible!

Correct they are temporary. We are waiting for the final seats before we ad the X bracing through the door openings. About zero of the original "frame" will be used.
 
Motor and tranny are mounted and new water pump installed.
