Where to buy windshield and rubber parts.

I need a windshield for my 64 BJ8. I have two complete windshields but both have cracked glass. Victoria British is haveing a sale on now. Has anyone used their glass or where is the best place to buy the glass. Also where is the best place to buy all the rubber gaskets for trunk,hood windows etc. Thanks!

I bought a couple of MGB windshields from them (rdstr & GT) and the quality was fine. I also sourced the rubber weatherstrips and fillers from them; all soft and pliable...

HI John, I would suggest that you give Healey Surgeons a call on the rubber parts that you seek.Last time I checked Inan would not ship the windscreen glasses but you can ask.Actually all the aftermarket glass I have seen seems to be ok. However, replacement glass does get to be very expensive and hard to find if you are looking for OEM items.---Fwiw---Keoke

By the way John, Hemphils Healey Haven might be a good source for glass too.

Keoke I have a question about the rubber stuff too, I am getting ready to reinstall mine and I have heard horror stories about the windsheild rubber. Some ones fit and others don`t. Where do I get a good one and how do I install it. thanks Skip

Hi Skip, I had the best luck with the rubber kits by purchasing them from Healey Surgeons. If you are not interested in originality the MGB wind screen rubber is the easiest to install. The windscreen to Scuttle seal seems to give us most of the trouble. However, patience,persistence and luck will generally let you get it in. In all the glass/rubber fitting I have found soapy water to be a requirement as a lubricant---Fwiw--Keoke

I bought my windshield from V.B. and it was made by NORDGLASS . It seems to be good quality. I did have to
sand off a little piece of sharp glass that was sticking out of one corner of the windshield with the dremel tool. It wasn't a big deal.
The only rubber piece that will possibly give you any trouble is the bottom seal that fits into the bottom piece of the frame to the cowl. I am waiting on my 5th seal to arrive tommorrow and hopefully I will be able to install this one. I recently discovered why I was having so much trouble. The channel edge was pushed in at a few places which narrowed the space to the point that the rubber wouldn't fit in. The gap was also too narrow in a few places but not at the same places as it was pushed in. There was NO visable damage to the outside chromed surfaces which made this hard to figure out. I have tried seals from moss and cape sports that appear to be the exact same size. I had a an older replacement gasket that was closer in dimension to the original. Try sliding the head of a 16 penny nail through the channel. It should be a tight fit and you may have to grind the top of the head flat BUT it should be able to slide all the way through the channel without comming to a stop anywhere. Also check the width of the gap. It should vary between .270- .280 " but any narrow spots will prevent the seal from going in.
