As my car was such a mess when I dismantled it I'm finding bits that obviously have a use but I don't know what they are.

So in the photo below can anyone tell me what should go through the hole, overdrive wiring loom, throttle switch pushrod, something else. And should it have a grommet?




And in this one what is the small hole near the centre of the image for, brake pipe or wiring loom clip. That's a suspension mount and the brass multiway connector for the brakes to the right of the image to give it some context.

1st picture: rubber grommet, and wiring back to the taillights, fuel pump, etc.

2nd pic: not positive, but if you're referring to the leftmost hole in the pic, then it could be the hole for the brake-pipe clipe (from 4-way to to LF). Later models also had the fuel pipe running up & over there too (where I got the idea to run my 100/6 fuel pipe, getting it away from the LH/exhaust side...).

Your car must be right hand drive, so these are all guesses from us here in the US. Here is a pic of a left hand drive and that hole would be for a brake clip. Here you can see the hole before I found a clip to put in there.

Healeyblue, your 6 cylinder car is laid out slightly differently than a 4 cylinder. Note the different location for the 4-way brake line connection. On the 4 it is on the rear control arm mount. This results in slightly different brake line routing. My 100 has the brake light switch wiring harness clip in that hole.

I'll see if I can get a pic of it tomorrow.

Yes, what Jim shows on the BN4 is how my BN6 is configured (before I passed the 3/8" SS tube__best the oilfield can provide__across there too).
