very slight miss

Nope, this isn't about a thin woman. My 100-6 did a 180 mile run this Sunday, and ran fine. Started with a full tank of gas, ended with about a quarter tank. Temperature was in the high seventies. Took her out later that night, and had a very slight "miss" at low rpms in third and fourth gear. Hardly noticeable, but there. This was a short run, about 15 miles. It didn't start to miss until we were on the way home (went to town for dinner). Took her out for about two miles last night, no problems, but she didn't really warm up. Any ideas what I should look for?

Start carrying a spare "rotor" with you if you haven't already.

1) distributor cap
2) secondary wiring
3) points (if you have them)

In a dark but ventilated area open the bonnet with the engine running. Look for arcing on the cap. If so, replace cap (genuine Lucas works best, IMO). Replace points; if fixed good, if not, check/replace plug wires (use 7mm copper stranded core if you have an original cap).

In my experience rotors fail outright, but it's a good idea to carry one (or ten).
