TR2/3/3A TR3A Ignition Problem / Question

I posted a question week ago and have traced the problem to no power in the large brown blue wire that looks like it supplies the power for the ignition switch which through the light switch "A" post.. Which gets it power from the top terminal on the voltage regulator (AKA control box). Now there is no power at that terminal on the regulator. Where does it get it's power from? It's not shown in the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual. I will be back in an hour. I was planning to take the 3 but not this time.

This is a good reason why this form needs to be here.

The brown/blue gets power through the regulator, which has a heavy wire connecting terminals A and A1. Check for power on 'A', if it's there then the regulator has failed (which they do sometimes).

If not, then continue tracing along the brown/white, which brings power from the ammeter, and the brown wire that supplys power to the ammeter from the top of the fuse block and in turn the top of the starter solenoid.

No power on A. If a jumper is run from the hot side of the battery to that A terminal then all works fine. TR3driver I did not understand your message " Check for power on 'A', if it's there then the regulator has failed ". I have no power on A now what?

I'd rebuild the front suspension and see if that cures
the problem.

If not? At least you've got a good front suspension.

Thanks for the replies. Had to go out of town for 2 days and just got back so there was no work completed since Sunday. That schematic looks great but the bottom is cut off below the regulator so there is no way to decipher it. Any way to resend?
