TR2/3/3A TR3A Control Hwead Wiring

Stator is out of the steering column and laying on my work bench, the self canceling mechanism is on and I'm ready for the next step. Hooking up the four wires, but wait! I see 6 connectors and four wires. Diagram tells me which wire goes to what device but not to which terminal.

In the picture I've labeled the terminals 1 through 4 and I labeled the one I think is ground, ground. Can anyone tell me which wire goes to which terminal? There is also a sixth connection but ISTR that is a mechanical connection and not part of the electrics.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I were posed with this problem, I would use an ohm meter to figure it out. The ground is for the horn, so if you push the horn button, and have the meter hooked to the ground terminal, and probe the others, you'll find the horn button terminal which the Brown/Black wire hooks to. That leaves the other three for the directionals. Using the ohm meter, the green wire supplies the current for both sides, so that has to be common with the other two terminals. The Green/Red is for the LH side, the Green/White for the RH side. By working the trafficator, you should be able to figure it out.

#4 = horn, heavy brown w/black wire.
#2 = flasher connection, green on the diagrams, but ISTR my original sub-harness had a different color here, something like light-green with a pink or brown tracer.
#1 = right turn signal, green w/white
#3 = left turn signal, green w/red
ground = grounded through the steering wheel, no wire.

Note that there are small holes next to the nuts, the wire terminals have a little 'finger' that is supposed to stick into the hole and help hold them from turning (and causing a short).

PS, I assume those three flat-head screws are only temporarily installed. They'll have to come out before final assembly.

Thanks Randall, I was wondering about the small holes next to the terminal connections. Makes a bunch of sense now. I'll be ready to get after it tomorrow. Yes those three flat head screws are just hanging out until I put it all together.
I also appreciate your approach Art. I was sitting there with my multi-meter but was not quite sure how to do it.
