Taxi Master Cylinder

The Girling master cylinder for our Austin FX4D needs a rebuild. There is a casting / plug on the top of the m.c. that prevents the piston from coming out. It looks to be threaded and there appears to be a small piston in that plug. I believe the master cylinder is from a Jaguar not necessarily an Austin piece. I've lost my taxi shop book. Any ideas?

Can you find a casting # on core? Will cross check Part # when I have time. Got year from profile.

On one side there appears to be sort of "G" at the solid end. On the same side the word "date," is stamped. The cast on the cylinder, again same side under the "DATE", 6467726 C, O, or 0. On the other side, the outlets to the brakes are letters A and B. At the solid end is I or 1- 376.

The car is registered as a 1966, and appears to be a 1969 to 1973 car. Over the years the taxis were repaired without concern for period correctness.

I can only find a Beck Arnley # from the 61-66 years for 40 and A40 MK11, and 850 MINI-car. Number is 071-0152-W73-243 and a Vera Parts book from the 80s show that it is a minor kit. Can you take the cups and seals and get single replacements from parts store? Not AZ etc., but older parts store.

The 6467726 is the casting number minus one digit. There are six or eight numbers in Girling castings. See if you can get the other # and I will check my books. I may even have a NOS cylinder.

Some members of the Triumph club claimed the cylinder appeared as a TR6 cylinder and gave some instruction as to getting the top plug out. Now finding the time to tackle that is the issue.
