I finally came across something that revolves around British cars. We have been looking to get involved in meets or anything going on in the Chicagoland area. Otherwse we just want to get the word out in the British car community that we are here and want to become involved with people or groups that appreciate British autos. Anyone interested?......oh and photos upon request. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: London Taxi looking for local events.

Welcome to the forum......there are quite a few events in the Chicagoland area, including a couple in the Milwaukee area, which isn't too much of a drive for you.

There are several Chicago-area based members too, so you should be in good company......

Re: London Taxi looking for local events.

Evan,

There are a few big British Car events in the mid west.
Around the end of June, there is a big British Car show in West Allis, WI.
In July, there is Mad Dogs and Englishman outside of Kalamazoo, MI and in September, the big British Car Show in Chicago. Enjoy your car, they are very unique and fun to drive.

Re: London Taxi looking for local events.

Oh yeah, and don't be afraid to show up at non-British events either, show all those other folks what a British car looks like...

Where I live there is only one British car show the whole year (anywhere even nearby), so the local Vintage Sports Car Club encourages their members to attend other shows as well

Re: London Taxi looking for local events.

Sherlock,

You are so right about attending regular car shows.
My wife and I enjoy attending car shows during the driving months and have received a number of first place awards in the foreign class.

I basically try to get the car out as much as possible. We have quite a few here on site so its just a matter of picking one out.

Re: London Taxi looking for local events.

I was asking our C.O.O. here. We actually dont have any connection to the operations in France. If you like im sure you could locate someone by calling the home offices in Coventry. I really wish I could help in this but I wouldnt know who owns a car in France. If this were the U.S. then id be all over it. Sorry.
