It would cost me less to finish that car than mine! I have most of the bits and pieces ready to install, just don't have the body work done.

I agree with Ray, It is a very good deal. He's got many good new parts that come with the deal, plus two engines and two gear boxes, one being a Datsun trans w/ Rivergate conversion. I have been thinking about it this all day. It's very tempting. My stumbling blocks are that I'm already in the middle of a Bugeye project that is taking it's toll on my time for other projects. I also have nowhere to store it until I find more time to put it together. The lack of title is another hassle that has to be dealt with. The other stumbling block is that SWMBO said "Go ahead and buy it.", but was clearly not happy about the prospect. Sooo, I guess if Mr. Toad was anywhere near completion, I'd be all over this. Hate to pass up something like this, but it just doesn't seem to be in the cards for me. :cryin:

What would scare me off (were I in the market): There's a real lack of detail in the pics. I can't tell, no matter how hard I squint, but it looks to me like the rear has bean de-seamed. It looks to me like there's body filler at the tail light too. Does anyone else think so? You just never know who you're dealing with. Just 'cause it' shiny doesn't mean much. Did he leave it all masked off for six years or did he just squirt some paint on it to cover up all the nastiness before listing it? If you could see it, touch it, feel it in person it would be one thing, but off ebay from this ad...not me. I think there's lots of room for this deal to go pear-shaped. Or it could be a great deal....

The first bid is $2K. My guess is that near the end someone will gobble this up. The whole thing is striking me as something is not correct. Let someone else take the risk and good luck to them.

Without a personal visit, or a trusted person checking it out, I would not go for it (don't ask me how I know).

That being said, here in Ohio I got a proper title from a New York Bill of Sale and their old proof of Insurance card I found in a door pocket.

It's hard to believe anybody would get that far on a car without getting a clear title. Even if your state doesn't care, if you want to sell it, the buyer may be in a state where its everything (like SC). I would only buy a parts car without a title.

Is it possible the lack of title is what's driving the sale? From this article, it looks like the only way to obtain a title in PA for a car without one is to go to court and get a judgement: https://www.vintageautomotive.net/?tag=no-car-title-in-pa If it was as easy as paying $75 to a NV title company, I'd think the seller would have done it. Googling the NV title company is an eye opener. Like the Romans said, "Caveat Emptor'.

I didn't like that the fender beading is not visible in the rear. The other issues don't help either.
It caught my eye because it's about 25 miles from where I live. Unfortunately, my schedule hasn't allowed me to think of looking at a new car.

I'm always puzzled why some one would sell a car without a title. Maybe you can title it in some way; I dunno. Probably depends a lot on the state you live in. But it's a show-stopper for me, and certainly for many of us. In an auction that means a much lower selling price. If the seller were willing to spend a half day sorting out the title, he could probably get a lot more for the car.
