Removing an Antenna from a 79

I know I've asked this before but I can't find the topic on the forum, so I'm going to ask again. Please forgive me.

What is the best and easiest way to remove the antenna mast from the front fender of a 79 B? There is not easy access hole to allow me to get to it and I can't pull it up from the top of the fender.

Do I really have to remove the inside splash guards to gain access?

Thanks for your patience.

Only way to get up inside the fender.

I don't know if the 79 is different than a 75 , but I was able to take mine out for painting and put it back through the top.

you should be able to get to it through the top but pulling the splash panel is a good idea as it will allow you to clean up the tons of junk thats back there and allow you to just remove the nut and let the ant. fall into the fender.

Thanks for the comments. I tried my best to get the antenna out through the hole in the fender but to no avail. I'll set some time aside to remove the splash panel and do it right.

Thank you all again.

Some bolts towards the rear of the wheel well. They're easy to get to if you turn the wheels in the direction of the side you want to work on.

You should remove those splash panels every year to clean out behind them.
