It was a wonderfully sunny day here for the show day at the ABFM (in Portland). There were 12 Bugeyes in attendance (only 9 in this shot - and mine is the one with the bonnet up)... and, sorry, I didn't shoot a photo of the Mark IIs on up (as there were very few - maybe 3). Saw BillL (from Kelso) there - who I learned knew my good buddy Peter (from the MG and Morris circles) - and who gave me a pancake PCV at the swap meet back in April.

[Bill, I lost track of you today but wanted to invite you to our lunch. Dang. How about a glass of wine at my place after the Sunday swap-meet stuff?]

First one without my car in about 10 years but the show was great. I used to go to see the cars and now I go to see old and new friends. There were THREE Midgets placed right at the main entrance to the field, across from about 75 MGBs. The THREE box Sprites were stashed away in the shade of one of the few trees on the field. I didn't get a full count of the cars but there must have been about 700 in total.

The accompanying SOVERN vintage racers had only about half their normal entries. Most of the paddock was empty, and what was there wasn't really all that interesting. I noticed a falling off of entrants at the Portland Historics back in July. I think the economy is taking its toll.

As a side note TODAY, Sunday is my 59th Birthday. Hope I can find some parts at the meet to "make my day".

Well Happy Birthday Bill!!! I had a surprise 60th back on the 9th of August.

I did see the 3 box Sprites under the trees but missed the Midgets. Frankly, the MGB section was so massive I just didn't go there.

Hope to see you there again.

Interesting, Shirley and I were on a trip in our TR6 a few weeks ago. We stayed in Kelso one night after leaving Mt St Helens and before visiting Long Beach and going into Oregon to visit some of Shirley's cousins and then stayed in Portland before touring along the Columbia on our way to Jackson Hole.
