Yet another post about my 74 MGB:
I just bought a new-to-me fuse box and cover for my 74 MGB. It looks to be in good shape, with no tarnishing. It's a far cry from the tarnished and paint-encrusted box that it's replacing. It came out of a Triumph, but is supposed to be the same as what's in a B. The trouble is, with the new box in, the right side tail-lamps don't work. The left ones are fine, and the brake lights work fine on both sides.
I put it into the car where #1 is at the top, just like the old one. My concern is that I might not have plugged everything back in the correct place. What worked on the old box might not work on the new. Multitester says a healthy amount of voltage is coming in, and going out. Now, if I plug both sets of red wires to the top terminals, all the lights work. I thought that one set plugged to the top terminal and the other to the second one.
If anyone could post a photo of what a properly installed fusebox looks like for a late chrome-bumpered car, I'd be most appreciative. I tried a web search, but got nowhere, and neither Haynes nor Bentley show the 4-way box in any detail.
Thank you,
