Met a local guy with an EType

Earlier today I was coming back from Auto Zone and saw a yellow series II E-Type coupe driving the other direction. So, I did an immediate U-Turn (safely!) and tried to following him. As my luck would have it, I got caught at a light, so I tried to turn right, then I was going to flip another U Turn and try to get back on the road he was on without waiting for the light to turn. Unfortunately traffic prevented me from getting back on the right road soon, so I was sure I had lost him. I drove north where he had gone anyway, and spotted him and his wife just getting out of the Jag at Wally World! I finally was able to catch up to him and had a nice chat! He lives down the road from me a piece and said he had seen my EType sitting in the Driveway a couple of times.

I didn't have a camera or even my cell phone with me, so no pictures. Maybe next time!

I know how you feel. I always become ecstatic when I see another with an xj40. I can only imagine your excitement to see another E-Type.

My wife hates it when I wave to passing Vanden Plas and X308 drivers. They probably think I'm a bloody wierdo (per my wife). I understand the connection though!

There was a time when British car owners would blink their headlights at one-another. Now that seems to tick people off.

Traditions lost. feh.

See, I would love to participate in such a stunt! I frequently believe we need a "hi sign" just to acknowledge one another.

I'm not ticked off! Over here in Florida I ALWAYS flash my headlights if it's a Florida babe driving her parent's Jaguar )

If it's an old man, I just wave. Don't want him to think I'm some sicko weirdo.

Oh, I will at least give the driver next to me a nice look, kinda like "isn't it nice how we are both driving Jags". However, I do get some disturbed looks back. Mostly because in Palm Beach I, the younger guy, am looking at older people in their new Jags from my 1989 xj40.
