Well got home from church, had a snooze and then fired up Ms Triss - lovely day, sunny, cool 50 deg. She loves cool weather. Initially meant to go just to the bank and then some shopping for supper but she begged and I relented so we went for a drive up the highway and back down by the lake - still not too far but it sure felt good!

But, here's what I learned. Last time I drove, she was hesitating every time I accelerated. Did a little interweb research and most said either too lean mixture (eliminated as the plugs are the perfect colour) or it needed oil in the carb damper. So, added oil and she now runs perfectly again - I didn't realize that this oil went somewhere - I just assumed you filled it up and it stayed filled up (like a brake system or transmission or diff is supposed to) turns out it empties too. who knew? (Yeah, I know, you did - :jester: ) but, it was a very helpful little tidbit to have. I keep thinking I need to put her to bed for the winter but then wednesday is going to be sunny and a little warmer - sheesh may have to delay another week.

The dampers get "drawn" from with vacuum. Shouldn't be a huge issue but every 300 miles or six weeks, check the level.

Heh....reminds me of when I first bought my Bugeye. I drove it from southern California to Denver and had no idea about dashpot oil. Needless to say both were bone dry when I got home. Now I check it every week or so.

Good bit of info. I'll make sure I remember when Mr. Toad is finally up and running.
