Okay, I've got the parking brake rods adjusted now using spritenut's trick of cutting the rods and threading them for 1/4-20. Using a union nut, you can then adjust the length to suit. If they need to be even longer, use 2 nuts and a bit of threaded rod.
Here's my current install. The parking brake is not adjusted, just in there close to see if this is going to work. I think I have this roughly the proper way -- the shorter rod from the LH side goes to the side of the compensator closest to the axle (as shown). Please comment if this doesn't look right.
