The time has come. I have decided to put my BN6 on the market. Over the past
year I have driven it only a few times due to adverse weather conditions and
other interests. And, I am getting a little too old (74) to keep crawling
under it for repairs the latest of which was to replace the cables from the
battery to the starter solenoid and from the solenoid to the starter. With
my arthritis, just lifting the car onto jack stands takes too much effort.
Anyway, over the next few weeks I will be placing it for sale, first in club
magazines and then on eBay. At the same time, I have an extensive library of
books - Pikovnik Guide to Historic Colors book, Moment Anderson autographed
book, etc. as well as many tools such as Whitworth spanners and sockets,
Pozidriv screwdrivers, various specialized nut removal tools (steering wheel
nut, hub nut, etc.) that I will no longer need. These will be listed on my
web site and then on eBay.

After the sale, I will continue to manage my web site at least until the
expiration of the current registration term which will be in June of 2016,
will monitor the Healey List and will contribute to the Healey Marque
Magazine. After that time, who knows. If anyone wants to volunteer to run
the web site and/or contribute articles, let me know.

I have been a Healey fanatic since 1958 and heavily involved since 1995 and
have enjoyed every minute of my participation.

Please, if you've ever visited John's website and were helped by it, drop him a line ( ahbn6@verizon.net) and let him know. I consider his site the best online resource for technical and historical material and it would be a huge loss to see it disappear from the web. We'll have to gather together to help John in passing the website on.

Oh no !!!!!!!! I look at John's site often, just yesterday reading all his stuff on overdrives and the mysteries that go with them ( still working on that bloody one of mine ) Totally understand about why he has decided to sell his BN6 as although not quite as old as John, know what he means about working on our Healey's as you get older. Hopefully someone will take over and run his site as too valuable to see it go away. Maybe John should talk to Reid about putting some of his articles and how to's in the AHCA Healey Marque, kind of like Roger Moment has his series of how to's in AHCUSA magazine ?
Regards,
Mike

Don't be too concerned. It will be several years, God willing, before I cease operating my web site or if I am lucky, someone will volunteer to take it over. My prime concern is to sell the Healey and the tools that I will no longer need.

John, thank you for your website, such an incredible resource for the community. It seems to me that one of the things the AH club(s) should consider is safeguarding information such as this, and take over web sites like yours that are rich sources of information. I don't want to leave this on Reid's doorstep, so perhaps Reid can suggest how we raise the point to officials in the club.

:tennis: Probably would charge for it. I do this at my own expense and love it. In any event, will not be necessary to do anything for years unless a bolt of lightening hits me and that might supercharge me so that i can get another Healey to work on.

healey rick, i believe that this thread on the forum was the one that i first saw regarding john's car...things led to things and i purchased the car soon after! i was looking for a bn6...my first love in healeys...way back in the day when i saw the thread! but, i had forgotten just how slow they are in todays world! every time i start it i dream of more power....but would never modify this car as such. i do have the v8 bj7 to help me fight the "conversion" urge!

I'm glad that news of John's "retirement" was a bit premature as far as maintaining his website goes. It's one of the most valuable references for Healey owners out there. And that BN6 of his sure is pretty. I converted my car to a V8 because of a lack of power (even though the Healey 6 sounds wonderful). I'm totally thrilled with the conversion and will gladly offer e-ticket rides to my fellow Healey owners. For some, the stock motor is just fine and it certainly was a good performer in its day. For others, more power makes it a more perfect Healey.
