John Fitch Phoenix on Chasing Classic Cars

We've talked about John Fitch in the past and his Healey experience. Got to catch what I think was a new episode of Chasing Classic Cars that was on my DVR this morning. Interesting Wayne Carini interviewing John from several years ago and the contributions he made to the sport. The Fitch Phoenix a One Off Prototype based on Corvair running gear built in 1966. '66 was the same year the Nader Book came out, along with a new boatload of DOT and EPA Regulations in 1966 and that killed John's attempt to build an affordable American Sports Car for the masses. Interesting show if you catch it on a repeat showing. .

I saw it yesterday, very interesting. also he pulled a very low mileage big M Healey all original, a TF and MGA that were presentable but needed work. The Healey looked great as did the Phoenix. Sold to a true lover of the Phoenix that will continue its history

Although I'm not much for reality shows, Carini seems like a decent guy. We got to talk to him at the PVGP two years ago.

As for John Fitch, Art Evans has a new book out on him (I posted this elsewhere on BFC yesterday)
