Flaming Death!

Was driving home from work yesterday, when I noticed a)my car was "bogging out" on acceleration and b)my gas mileage seemed to fall through the floor (I could see the gas gauge falling).

When I pulled in the driveway, I could smell raw gas. I checked my lines from rear to front. When I got to the front I discovered gas spraying on my toasty exhaust manifold.... bad idea.

I guess my header wraps saved me from skin grafts this time. What a well spent $50.

That happened once to me in my MBG! The fuel line somehow got free of the SU and was squirting gas right on the manifold! SCARY! Glad your OK!

A fitting wiggled loose in it's threads on my fuel rail. A "redesign" is in the works.

Update: thought I fixed it, but it started leaking again on the way to work this morning. We are shooting this week, so I could NOT be late. After discovering the leak, I unhooked the fire extinguisher from the roll bar and rode the rest of the way in with it between my legs.

I think I have a death wish.
