My MG-TD/B is running great and it is now my daily driver. I'm going to take it to the race track next week and I'm wondering about carburator adjustments. Sometimes when I shut it down I get a back fire. I don't know if that means that it's running rich or what. Would I do better on the track with a rich mixture? My carbs are HIF4's. I get about 23 MPG. When I'm on the freeway and doing about 65, when I stomp on it, it takes about 15 seconds to get to 80 mph, which I think is a long time. Thanks for your imput.
