Sorry for the cross post but I can't find the original thread asking about this.
Someone recently mentioned that Art Lipp was no longer selling his Delrin steering column bushings as a separate item. Seeing as I installed them a few months ago with no problem, I emailed Art and asked what was going on. Art told me that the TR4-TR6 steering shafts are hollow and can be twisted/bent out of round when they're being "worked on". It's very difficult to observe this condition when the column is installed but is very obvious when the column is taken apart. He's personally encountered a number of bent shafts in his column rebuilding business and the 2 instances of people having problems installing his bushings, it has been the top bushing. If the column is twisted or bent, the top bushing will be difficult or impossible to install. As a result, he's no longer selling the bushings as a separate item and is rethinking how best to proceed. He may offer them with very detailed information on the twisted/bent shafts and the potential impact on installation. He is still rebuilding shafts and using the bushings in his rebuilding business.
It's such an easy & inexpensive install that I hope he can get this worked out.
