Cam lobe RE-measurements

Okay, turns out the weirdness I was getting with my prior measurements were, once again, opperator error. I used the technique HAP descirbed in a previous thread and got much better results. Stock travel for my cam is .240 for both intake and exhaust according to the info on Paul Tegler's site. My lowest reading was .240 and my highest was .244. I can only assume that some amount of that spread is due to opperator and equipment error (bought my dial on sale at Harbor Freight /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif ).

So do you still say chunk it?

Ps. Playing with my dial and magnetic base was FUN!

well, 0.004" spread ain't that much. Only thing I'll mumble is: lifter 'juggling' is an iffy proposition. You could luck out and get where you want to be with it. Ever play "Risk!"?
