BJ8 Top Trunnion removal

It is impossible for me to remove the top trunnion from the King Pin? Both parts are tightly rusted.
I already soaked the connection few days with a rust remover, but the top trunnion does not dissolve. Are there any suggestions for how to proceed?

In that case a bit of heat might help.

Assuming you've got the cross-bolt out and the castle nut off or backed-off: I would consider heating the upper trunnion with a propane torch while tapping the side with your knockoff hammer.

Another idea: run a steel bar through the trunnion, lower car onto jackstands on either side of trunnion; back the nut off until flush with top of kingpin, then hit nut with lead hammer. Allow weight of car to help pull kingpin out of upper trunnion. Possibly heat trunnion here as well.

The BJ8 is completely disassembled, the axis is on the bench. I have already tried disconnecting the trunnion with a puller. The next attempt will be to heat the trunnion and i think the last step should be a recipro saw.

Heat the trunnion with oxy and get it red hot....propane or Mapp gas won't do it. If all else fails use a plasma cutter. Remember, trunnions are a dime a dozen. Those BJ8 spindles (stub axles) are rare

I'd put it securely in a vise and try knocking the trunnion off using a brass punch after applying some heat. Pullers apply even pressure--some things need a good whack.

Another way would be to spray the inside of the trunnion with penetrant, clamp the trunnion in a vice, insert a large phillips screwdriver in the lower fulcrum tube and jiggle back and forth using the screwdriver as a lever.

I assume that all the brakes etc. are removed.

Remove the top pin, remove the bottom from the lower wishbones take the whole thing to a large vice bolted down to a reasonably stout workbench, grip the lower end in the vice and shove a longish bar through the top pin hole, grip the bar each side of the trunnion and brace yourself. Then using brute force with a good measure of ignorance, push and pull the bar in each direction sharply and several times to break the hold of the top trunnion. Took my first side to a Healey garage, saw how they did it and havn't looked back since.
