I was having lots of fun this weekend with removing the front bolt on the " easy side " leaf spring. After cutting the old leaf spring at each end and heating the front eye with the torch, I was finally able to drive the bolt out.....

The new Moss BJ8 ( stage 2 ) leaf springs have only 5 leafs ?
On closer inspection, my factory one had 6 leafs. The individual leafs in the new ones are the same thickness as the original. The new one is just missing the very bottom, shortest leaf ?

I took the bottom leaf from my factory spring and installed it under the bottom of the new spring from Moss. Now the new assembly has 6 leafs, but no plastic between the leafs like my factory one had.

Is there any particular reason why Moss would stock new leaf springs with one less leaf than the factory spring ?

Am I doing the right thing by adding the 6th bottom leaf to the new Moss spring ?
I have a couple of days to decide while I wait on new U bolts
to arrive.
Looking for any advice.
