MGB Any risk rolling car on dry bearings

Bit of an odd question: in order to prep my Bugeye for shipping I need to get my MGB off of my lift so that I can get the Bugeye up there to finish a few small things. I've been doing a front suspension rebuild on the MGB, and I'm almost (but not quite all the way) done. I have the new bearing races installed in the hubs, but haven't set the hub shims yet or greased anything up. Not a huge project, but I'm tight on time

Would I be OK to just dry fit the hubs close enough, so that I can roll the car off the lift (maybe 20 feet of travel) or am I really better off getting them set and greased properly?

I don't like to be rushed working on my cars, but I have some urgency to get the Sprite set up so it can be shipped. Figured it was worth asking the brain trust here before I damage anything.

I wouldn't worry as much about the shimming and getting everything on-spec clearance/tolerance wise, but I'd be more comfortable with at least applying a surface coating of grease to the bearings and races - any time you have dry metal to metal contact that could score the surfaces. Obviously doing a full bearing packing correctly when you take it back apart to do the shims and such.

Thanks folks. Not sure I'll get to it tonight, but I will make sure things are reasonably greased/oiled before I roll the car around.

Was able to get to this tonight. Wound up getting the hubs assembled and properly greased, just still need to get them shimmed and torqued down properly. It was enough to get things greased and on securely so that I could roll the car off the lift.

Thanks again for the suggestions!
