Zenith single carb problems

BTW while I think of it, and if you don't already know, the two repair books you want are

https://tinyurl.com/d2su4o (Haynes)

and

https://tinyurl.com/dcs2kq (Bentley)

keep an eye out - I paid less for both.

Also, get chatting over at the Spridget boards - not only friendly folk (like here I suspect) but lots of parts too. For instance, you could have had my pollution canister for shipping - and that is not uncommon. I've been generously treated and pieces of my car are on at least 5 or 6 cars around the continent. Your certainly at the right place Internet Board wise.

I have the Haynes one and I'll keep an eye out for the Bently one. I got brave and had to go somewhere about 20 miles away so I took the Midget. It drove well-ish. Definetly still way to rich as there is a small amount of black smoke when she sits idling and it struggles a bit going up hill but aside from that it was a very nice drive.

I'm thinking of swapping out the gross jet and the metering needle as no manner of adjustment leans this engine out. Moss lists 4 different needles. How do I know which one to order?
