XK 140 front transmission seal

The manual says very little on how to take the front transmission seal off and replace. Mine has a metal cover plate over the seal. I'm wondering if that pops out or you need to take the whole front cover off to take the seal out? Mac
 
Take front cover off and press seal out. Be careful, lots of aluminum, with seal being steel. Press new on one carefully. If you need seal take to a regular parts store, not AutoZone etc., they can cross #s.
