With the 175/70/13 any issues with rubbing in the rear? I looked at that site above and you can find some replacement 175/70/13 tires there. Lots of alternatives including a few with some sticky rubber.

I have not had any rubbing at all in the rear. I have had a bit on the front due to my tube shock conversion when turning real sharp, but that is it. Factory wheels fenders and springs and it works. I been looking at more 175/70/13s but not found any in white letters, so I will have to flip the good firehawks around to have all tires match. I like the looks of the firehawks because the corners are very square, much like the old bias ply tires. I keep hoping to find a couple and keep the white letters.

Mine rub in the front on a hard turn too, but not because of shocks, they just do. No trouble out back.
 
I've got 13x5 rims for our 2nd bugeye and test mounted them tonight on our yellow BE, using 175/70/13 tires from two separate manufacturers (Kumho Touring and Toyo Eclipse). The driver's side front is no problem, but the passenger side hits up against the frame when the wheel is turned all the way to the right. I'll crawl underneath tomorrow to check clearances at the rear as well as do some measuring (the top of the rear tire is slightly within the body but the rest of the tire protrudes)and swap the rims/tires around. I don't have the nose piece on at this time so can't check to see how the front end fits. I'll do some measuring (offset of the rims etc) and share them, possibly as a new thread.

If anyone has any ideas as to why the dang right front wheel would be rubbing - please advise as to what I should be looking for, as I'd like to run this wheel/tyre combo, but I don't want to worry about safety etc. when doing a hard right turn.

Incorrect toe in?

or just variance in the geometry.
