I really didn't know what the GarageMahal was, 4000sq/ft, with an apartment, my wife would never see me. (heh)
 
She comes out to visit from time to time. Never says anything but you can see the wheels going.

Heck yes, every car has needed parts laying in it. Tony needs a full time mechanic for about a year.
 
(Kind of curious about the "morality" of a wooden dash on a car that originally didn't have one)

You know I thought about that. I may stir something up here but hey. It's my car. Thats the way I feel about it. Now if I were building a stock show car it would be different but I did a daily driver. I'm not saying a driver around town I average about a hundred miles a day. This is my main transportation. The Wife drives the 2003 Jag and I drive the Sprite. So to me it all depends on what you are planning to use the car for. Make the car what you want and let evreyone think as they may.

Why not a wood dash?
These cars were built down to a price, thus no wood dash or other 'fancy' choices.
The fact that the car is now yours means that you ( not a bean-counter at BL ) make the choices regarding these things.
But, then again, I never was a purist. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
For a driver, do as you like. It really only has to make one person happy.
 
Tony, do you know if the outline of your wodden dash would fit in a 1970?

If so do you have the otline on paper that Icould get. I can figure out my own guage layout, but the outline thing for me is a challende... Thanks
 
I'm sold! And I'm going to resist the urge to make jokes about just getting "fixed" after our daughter was born as opposed to stashing the private parts in the attic...
 
I think the dash on early MkI cars is different shape than dash on '70 under all that foam (though I've never ripped a later one apart).
