Please post you thoughts and prayers for Dave Russell in this thread. See my announcement thread FIRST so you know the situation (ie. Get Well soon is probably not appropriate)

Dave, I would like you to know that I have the utmost respect for you. You never fail to help others, and you share your knowledge of these quirky little cars that we all love so much, in order that your fellow enthusiasts can get as much enjoyment out of them as you obviously have. I always enjoy reading your posts because I learn something new each time.

You embody what this community is all about. You have my thoughts and my prayers.

Dave you are an inspiration to us all, and I can only hope to be more like you when I grow up.

I have missed your presence here and hope that it's only temporary.

Dave Russell,
the knowledge, the generosity with that knowledge, the the tact and manners with which you give endlessly is truly awe-inspiring.
I have read from afar your posts for many a year and words fail me to describe
the respect you have gained, in this community and, I am sure, all around you.

Hoping for the best.

You are known for extraordinarily considerate responses.

Thank you for sharing what obviously was a considerable amount of your time.

We have here a permanent record of your dedication.

I sincerely hope for you and your family.

Best wishes and warm regards to you, Dave. I'm sorry about your illness and hope it improves soon.

I, too, hold you in the highest regard for the quality and tact you show in all your postings here over the years. This place simply would not the the same without your expert input.

Godspeed to you.

Dave and the Russell family - We don't know each other, but just reading Dave's posts for the past two years has made me feel like he is an old friend, full of knowledge and wisdom, and always willing to share. Dave, you are a large part of what we do here, and many of us have benefitted from what you know and say here on the Forum. So even though we have never actually met, I still say to you, "Good luck, my friend, my thoughts are with you, and we hope to hear from you soon."

Hey, Dave and Mrs. Dave -

You are both in my thoughts and prayers, and on the prayer list here at my parish, Trinity, Clarksville.

As a cancer survivor myself, I can attest to the power of prayer. Our prayers are with you and your family Dave. Continue to fight the good fight...your eFriend, Mike :grouphug:

Dave, you have always been a great source of information and support whenever I've had questions. I wish you all the best. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Couldn't possibly add to what's been posted above. You're in our thoughts here, Dave.

Take care, friend.

Dave:
Thank you for your help and answers to my questions during my brief ownership of a 100-4. You have always been quick to help even though I had a most ridiculous melt-down in public here, and that just speaks volumes about you.
You and Mrs. Dave are in my thoughts and prayers and wish you all the best and a speedy recovery!
Via Con Dios, Dave.
Warmest Regards
Roy Simpson

Dave:

Sending Good Thoughts and Wishes your way.

With respect,

Dave, You have been a tremendous resource and help for me these last few years with my Healey. It was an honor to meet and share a beer with you at Nelson, BC. My prayers are with you.

Dave,

You are absolutely one of the very best examples of the best people in this hobby. All best wishes and MANY THANKS for all you have contributed, and my sincere and enthusiastic hope that you'll be able to get back to the never-ending task of helping us less-knowledgeable, less-experienced and less-talented folks - of which I am one of the best examples! - keep these cars on the road.

Your friend,
Reid

Dave;
You personify all the good things about this forum and this hobby!

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dave

Dave and Marlene, from my family to your family, all the wishes and love and thoughts of support that you need go out to you. May all the angels and spirits and teachers and higher powers watch over you, help you and comfort you during the coming days.

Dave, the road ahead is uncertain at best, but know you do not travel it alone. Many if not most of us have been touched by cancer in one form or another. All of us go with you in spirit, if not in body. You are surrounded by all of our thoughts, wishes, prayers and love.

Marlene, you too are surrounded by the same thoughts, wishes, prayers and love. Your road as caretaker for Dave is as uncertain as his. You too do not travel it alone. There is a community of support for both of you out there, a piece of it being here at BCF.

Depending on where you live, you may be near a wonderful resource called Gilda's Club. Gilda's Club was founded by Gilda Radner, of Saturday Night Live fame. It is a place for people with cancer and their families and friends to get support, information and a community. My only connection to Gilda's Club is that my wife and I went there during her journey with cancer. It was tremendously helpful. She came through her journey and is thankful still for the support she found there.

Go with love and light on your journey. Where ever it takes you, may your journey be one of grace and ease.

The Wilkens-Hays family.
