MGA Wiring harness question

A friend of mine is clearing out bits and parts left over from a long owned British car repair shop. He called me today and asked if I was interested in a new, still in the bag, wiring harness for a 1500 MGA. I have a 1962 MKII that sure could use a new wiring harness. Does anyone know what the differences are between the two harnesses? I know Moss has different ones listed, but I don't know if parts or all of the earlier one could be used on my later A.
Thanks,
Charlie

Thanks Tom,

I bought the 1600 laminated wiring diagram and will compare it with the earlier one. I was just hoping someone knew if there was any major difference.

The later cars (1600) did not have the turn signal relay. The turn signal relay made it so you did not need a separate light bulb for the signals. Not interchangeable.

If he is giving it to you, take it. Someone will need it and you'll have one. If he is selling it cheap same notion.

Thanks for all the information. My friend wants to sell it so I'll probably post it for him in the classified ads. He is just confirming the number with Moss and then will sell if for half price. It is still in the original packing.

Bought an uninstalled (and unlabeled) new harness for my 1500 and learned the difference the hard way It was for a 1600. The easy way is to check the number of tail light wires. You can use the 1600 harness in a 1500, but will have to fabricate wiring that goes to the turn signal relay, then tape off the unused third tail light wire.
