Wiring chan

I recently finished the wiring on my BN1 by installing the front indicators and to my surprise they were the first thing not to work first time. When I turned the indicators on both sides flashed at the front whilst the rear worked perfectly. I started by looking at the wiring diagram and realised that the feed from the relay goes to the indicators and the light on the dash which struck me as odd. I dug out the light from behind the dash and realised both wires soldered onto the same tab, by me a long time ago. I removed the light from the loom and the indicators now work perfectly.

So, I am wondering if I have the wrong type of lamp housing?

Or did I put too much solder on?

Or is it something else?

Any ideas welcome
