Final installation of new dash in my TR6. Hooked battery up to test lights, etc....wiper switch would not turn wiper motor off...kept turning switch both ways ..no response? Could it be the switch is faulty? The part I am referring to is part 34 on the Moss Motors Assembly manual vol. 2, switches and gauges page. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to test before ordering this expensive part? Thanks!!

More likely, I think, that the 'park' function is not correctly set. This is the arrangement (inside the drive head under the bonnet) that causes the wipers to continue to operate (after being switched off) until they reach the bottom of the swipe (parked).
It is adjustable (rotating a piece on there) and breakable (copper contact arm) but fixable in any case.
Note: My comments are based on experience with the 4-cyl cars so I may be all wet if the TR6 is different in this regard.

The details on a TR6 wiper motor are different, but it still contains a park switch, which can still malfunction.
One test would be to remove the plug from the dash switch (assuming the TR6 used a plug, I don't remember offhand) and temporarily install a jumper between the R/LG and N/LG wires (pins 3 and 4 in the plug). Turn the ignition on and watch what the wiper motor does. It may run for a bit; but should shut off before the wipers make a complete sweep. If it doesn't stop, there is a problem with the park switch in the wiper motor, or the wiring to the motor.
With the switch turned 'off', you should find continuity (multimeter or powered test light) between pins 3 and 4, but not between pins 1 and 2 or 2 and 3.
'Low' should show continuity between 2 and 3, not 1-2 or 3-4. 'High' should show continuity between 1 and 2, not 2-3 or 3-4.
