Wiper motor rubber mounts

The only part number I can find for the six rubber mounts for the wiper motor to the pedestal are from VB for a mounting kit part# 9-6146. I would like to order these from TRF. Does anybody have their part number for the rubber pieces only?

Also has anybody tried to shim the motor so it sits a bit higher on the pedestal. I was thinking this would make it look better at the firewall were the drive tube goes thru. The stock way the tube goes thru the very bottom of the hole and distorts the grommet.

Keith,

Not sure if TRF sells the rubber mounts separately. I found the part number LU743176 for $5.97 which is supposed to be a wiper motor mounting kit that fits TR2-250, Spitfire Mk1-3 and GT6 Mk1.

You can see it in this catalog here for the TR250 and it includes the rubber mounts, studs, washers and "hardware" (nuts?).

Aren't there 3 rubber mounts with a split in the middle that fits in the mounting bracket (you mentioned 6)? I do see that Victoria British lists the grommet as 0-010 but at $2.45 each (3 required), you are better off buying the mounting kit.

I don't believe they sell just the rubber alone, it's only supplied as part of the mounting kit LU743176.

Correct new mounts may make your motor sit a bit higher. They definitely sag over time.

Hmmm -- did someone cut your old ones in half to fit them? Wouldn't be the first time, as I recall those can be hard to get thru the holes.

Thanks for the part number. The PO must have made something up with the rubber mounts. The ones I had were six doughnut looking things. I would not have guessed that it should be three pieces.
