Window Seal Clip Question

Can someone send a photo showing the proper instillation of the window seal clips that secure the inner and outter seals.
I am replacing the seals on my BJ7. It appears that the clips on the old seals were installed incorrectly.

Hi Ray , Whst makes you think the original clips were installed incorrectly? Thats pretty hard to do.--Keoke

Keoke,

My assumption is based on the fact that the clips on the outter strip are installed in such a manner that require the strip to be installed by pushing the strip upward into the clips. The inner strips are pushed downward to install. I would seem that if the clips were installed correctly, both strips would be installed in the same manner, i.e. both downward.

Nope, the clip pushes on upward on to the rubber piece at the indented locations. It is then pressed on to the chrome trim and the remaing loop which faces down snaps on to the top of the door's lip.--Keoke-??

Keoke,

It sounds like you are saying that the chrome trim on top of the door must be removed before installing the outter strip. How does one remove this chorme strip?

Ray

Hi Ray , Take a strong screw driver and put it up under the extreme back edge of the chrome strip. Tap the screw driver with the palm of your hand until it clears the top edge of the door. Now push it slightly forward and continue by hand, lifting it up, to loosen it along it entire length.--Keoke
