Who drove their Triumph today?

I drove mine to the golf course last thurs. It's only about two miles and no threat of rain. On 18 I looked to the west and **** it was black. Then felt a sprinkle. Headed for the parking lot, a friend was going to take care of the clubs and I was going to beat the rain home. ****, did I say that I live west of the course. No? Well about a quarter mile down the road it opened up. Now, I can go like heck and the rain will go over the top or stop and get wet putting the top up. I went like heck. That is till I got behind a pick up truck going 35 for the last half mile. I got wet and more than a few laughs from friends. All in all, it was well worth the dampness.

Ever since I discovered the TR5 pictured in the opening sequence of one of the Austin Powers movies, I've taken to saying that "I put the rrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrr in TR, baby, yeah!" My work colleagues *hate* it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I was thinking about driving it to work this week, but it has rained all week.

My wife has been driving her MGA everyday since May...It's been raining here for the past two days, so the top and side curtains went up....The only problem it's had since May was a leaky radiator and a bad ground strap....Other than that trouble free transportation.....Corse I've been nice and cozy in a big American sedan /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I took mine out to the Amishman today to have some new snaps put on the boot cover. Cloudy and looking like rain but I chanced it. He replaced the plastic snaps with the metal ones (11 of um) for $8.00. Fits great now.

Certainly not me. I'm waiting on my clutch master cylinder from TRF. Hope to have it installed by this weekend. Its supposed to be nice and warm this weekend in NY.

Today!
The first sunny day in two weeks when I wasn't traveling!
It was good to have her out again, but fall is really in the air..I wore a jacket and had to put my hands in my arm pits at every stop. It still was 30 minutes after I got to the office before I could type without pain. Brrrrrr

Just drove mine to the shop. I think that counts?! Getting a new Starter, Master Clutch Cylinder, and Slave Clutch Cylinder put in! Weather is nice here today, and this weekend is supposed to be beautiful!

My Stag project is nearing completion so I drove it to work today. Still need to get the carpet back in it as well as a few other small details. The Ford 289 moves it down the road pretty quickly. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I want to get the bugs out of it before the drive to the Colorado English Motoring Conclave on Sunday. Everyone should feel sorry for me because when I don't drive the Stag, I have to drive my Morris Minor Traveller. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm out in the San Fransisco Bay area. Woke up to mid 50's and fog this morning. Put on my leather jacket and fired up my 1960 TR3A. No top. Used the farm roads, about 13 miles, all the way to work. On days like this life is very good.

Hi New member from Pacific Northwest
I drove my new to me '74 TR6 today in a Seattle shower, the top did not not leak. 40 miles one way. Love this site
Does that count?

Hi to you too! And welcome to the forum. It's the best one around, as you'll see if you stick with us. And yes, it counts.

I HOPED to be driving mine tomorrow, but my perfectionist mechanic needs more time, which in a way makes me very happy. He did say that the clutch works up and down, but did not start it yet with everything still out of the interior for the carpet installation and stereo replacement.

If it doesn't pour tomorrow, I may have it by noon. That will really count!

Bruce, we'll see you down there. Taking the TR8 to boost the wedge numbers and the TR6 already has plenty of awards there. Weather supposed to top out in the mid 60's and be partly cloudy. If so that will be an awesome day on the show field. Better than too hot or rainy and cold anyway. See you down there. I'll probably park with the BMCNC though.

MadRiver - thanks for starting this thread. It's what it's all about.

Of course, I've been rather unhappy with you and avoided reading this thread for two days b/c it's been raining or too cold (puss) all week.

Every night this week I've checked accuweather.com for the next day's forecast. When it doesn't say what I want I go to weather.com hoping for a better second opinion.

Scew it, tomorrow I'm driving the 6 even if it's supposed to rain!

No....new stereo install in the Montero kept me at Best Buy much of the day, besides it was drizzly all day in DC. I just can't bring myself to drive it in the rain; HOWEVER, I did win the bidding on eBay for a coveted chromed mirror-finish valve cover that I will install as soon as I get it! NICE!

Speaking of rain, here it is raining again in New England, but what else is new? It doesn't matter because mine won't be ready until tomorrow anyhow and it's actually supposed to stop raining tonight.

Yeah, right.......with the weekend coming
