I'm with you silverghost. I was born in March of 63 so I was only 9 months old. I do remember the challenger and exactly what I was doing (So does a whole generation of school children who were all tuned in to watch the 1st teacher in space)
Isn't it funny how we can all recall those tragic events that we knew when we watched meant our world had just changed in front of our eyes. My Mom recalls the bombing of Pearl Harbor the same way y'all talk about the Kennedy assasination. I guess every generation has their moment.
I wish we had more positive events to learn these lessons from...mine was the first man on the moon. I went outside with my grandfather to see if we could see them. I was only 6 and knew that a great thing had just happened. Maybe it was only the excitement of my grandfather
I know I felt this again when they announced Obama as the next president...I truly hope you are right and that this is another great moment in American History that I can look back on with wonder and awe!
