What to do with my TR6; build/sell?

Guys, I really am torn. I've always wanted a TR6 and found a really solid one owner '71 that's been in storage 28 years. It's all there, albeit needing a complete restoration. With my new job I can fund a build, but I don't have time because I'm always working. I work on stuff all week long and the last thing I want to do with what little time I have off is pull wrenches.

I can work as much overtime as I want, so I was thinking instead of restoring it, just work overtime instead and buy one done.

If I did build it, I'm unsure of which way to go. Part of me says aluminum headed 302/ 5speed, BMW E36 M3 w/ six speed and part says keep it stock. I'd need to build a better shop before I did anything too.

I know what the answer should be, but I really hate to let it go. I don't need the money and it isn't eating anything where it's at.....and I FINALLY got one !!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!

Hey, this is just my thoughts.
Are you going to be working all these hours forever, or just short term?
If the car sat for 28 years, is 2 more gonna hurt?
How much to get it mobile?
What would you get for it if sold?

Keep it, make it a driver, and enjoy.

SELL SELL SELL - take 1/2 the profit and pay down student debt take 1/2 the money a our it into the Midget - focus man, why buy a tractor when you already have a car?!

We all know too well that it is far cheaper to buy a car restored than to do it yourself, even if you can do most of the work. As long as you can trust the car you purchase, that will be the cheapest option.

If you don't have the time now to redo the one you have, then I'd vote for selling it and putting the money aside. Add to that fund with your overtime work, and eventually (and probably pretty quickly) you'll have plenty of funds to get exactly what you want.

The other option is that if the TR6 you have in hand has all the features you want (ie overdrive, wheels, tops, etc) and is generally solid, then just put it away for a few more years and save up a restoration fund for it. As long as you can store it for free it won't cost you anything to keep it on hand.

Whatever you do, ignore the tractor comments as they are completely unrelated to the car in question.

Or, you can bolt that engine into the Midget - really.

Thanks dude, what happened to focus????

I can't believe it fits that well. Shoulda bought that GT6 for $200 if I had known that. Wouldn't do it to mine, but I got that parts car. I'd hate to split a matching numbers car. That must add 200 pounds to the front.
