Am I the only one who peed myself laughing?

Lots of pep, no bucking, jerking and will run 70 MPH all day long and I get great gas mileage. I still can't see why everyone wants to, (strip), the engine of the original equipment when it's going to be used as a street machine. Amazing! Absolutely amazing. Sorry for running on.

Apparently. What, you can't believe that my car runs well? Come drive it!

No, Eric.
But I deleted my response.

I don't think anyone is questioning how well your car runs. The "funny" part about your quote is the '69 B should have little to no emissions gear. (At least compared to the 76 and newer). It's the smog pump (looks like an extra alternator) that most people remove.
For example, my '76 B (for off road purposes only /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif ) has been modified to be set up more like your '69 then when it came off the showroom floor.
Although the next time i am in NC, i would love to drive your car!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I'm officially putting my tail between my legs now.

One answer to "why" is that the old butterflies usually fit when you re-install them.....
Sounds like you haven't had a problem with new ones though - mind if I ask where you get 'em?
