I liked the Z3 when it first came out. Exactly the same way I liked the Miata when it first came out. But over time the more I looked at them and the more of them that I saw, I didn't like them any more than at first sight, probably less.
However, I reckon in about 5 to 10 years time, when the first gen Miata is no longer a common sight on the road, I may grow to like it more again. The same with the Z3.
I think it has something to do with less than 5% of the current owners of those cars know what makes them tick.
The M cars however, are a different matter. Although, if I were to ever buy one (not that I would), it would definitely be one of the smaller M cars, like the M3, Z4 M, etc. Never been a fan of the "large" sedan/saloon car.
