What not to drive on that first date..

I liked the Z3 when it first came out. Exactly the same way I liked the Miata when it first came out. But over time the more I looked at them and the more of them that I saw, I didn't like them any more than at first sight, probably less.

However, I reckon in about 5 to 10 years time, when the first gen Miata is no longer a common sight on the road, I may grow to like it more again. The same with the Z3.

I think it has something to do with less than 5% of the current owners of those cars know what makes them tick.

The M cars however, are a different matter. Although, if I were to ever buy one (not that I would), it would definitely be one of the smaller M cars, like the M3, Z4 M, etc. Never been a fan of the "large" sedan/saloon car.

I liked the Z3.. really liked the look of the coupe. I've driven a Z4.. I'd buy one if I could afford it!
As for the interviews... Yea OK whatever... How about interviewing some women that are "dateable" and not just plain scary.
I was surprised at the reaction to the Prius... some liked it, but one said "he's cheap"
Listen honey! A cheap guy isen't driving a BRAND NEW CAR! Especially not a $30K one. A REALLY cheap guy isen't even driving a fairly new car. He's the one in the rotted out 1980 CJ5....
Oh, wait a minute!!!!

If you ever get the chance, drive an E39 M5. Something like 390HP and a chassis to handle it. It's a hoot to drive.

I've found an old BMW M6 that's been sitting for lots of years & am salivating over it....

Now THAT'S a BMW!

Yep, shop has lost contact with owner...its been sitting for years & years - needs a new fuel rail so would probably be super expensive to fix....however, if they find the owner or go for a mechanic's lien & its in the ballpark, you never know....

I am so deeply in love with every iteration of the M6 it's not even funny.

Also, why I like the Z4 styling - look closely:

Ok so I know this ain't “PC” to say this - but I find it extremely unsettling (scary even) that only the two LARGE chicks even mentioned anything about of putting out. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

If girls judge people by the cars they drive.......
....most of us are in trouble.

Tony - if it is a true M6, make an offer and ask questions later. About 6000 were made.

Then, as you say, get our your checkbook. A sharknose E24 M6 is unbelievably expensive to repair. Luckily many parts are still available (except trim).

This is still a timeless profile.

Yep, its a true "M6"...I'm still in the hunt - they're looking to see if they can find the owner; if not, I've volunteered to pay for the mechanic's lien process...now we just wait.

Must...resist...making a Duran Duran reference...

I'm not a huge fan of the Zed roadsters but when they first came out I must admit that minus the price of entry I liked them far more than the Miata. But the M coupe & M roadster are a breed apart from the vanalia Beamer Z-cars.

As for other BMW's? As I said in a previous thread I've always liked the other M cars but I do like the 740's for some reason. But sticking with two doors I'd always wanted to play with a 850 with its V12 action in a GT 2+2 setup.

In fact I saw a red 850 for sale at a local used car lot near one of my work sites.

Heck! Truth be told I'ed even take a 840 (v8).

The 8's are neat to look at and I've always been fond of their styling. But they aren't a lot of car for the money and like all expensive cars, the cost of ownership is high.

I've owned a 7-series and it's a very nice car. If I wanted a cruiser and money was no object, I'd buy one in a heartbeat over anything else of it's type.

Did they TRY to find the dumbest sounding women in Chicago?

I don't know about that, but it sounds like some of most shallow thinking women they could find. Unless it's an unroadworthy, unsafe wreck. There's a heck of a lot more important things to consider than what kind of car the other person drives.
-- im with ya there! heck if my car would have been a factor in my dating youth id still be a virgin, while in college i had three vw bugs none later then 1963 and one with only three fenders, a 1965 chevy malibu with no trunk, i found that getting them in these cars was no big deal it was getting em out that was the problem, then again i am a handsom /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Stuped children. Where do we breed these folks.

They deserve what ever happens and we even let them vote.

Sad day indeed.

Depends on the year. Around 2001 they switched engines from S52 to S54. There's a huge difference in HP (240 vs 320). You want the later engine.
