What is this car? Quick help needed.

These side screens are different than those pictured by zblu. These have a steel frame all the way around the perimeter to which the plexiglas is attached. They have a lever at the rear of each window. These appear to be factory made. Do you see the wind wings in the picture? These and the screens were in the trunk.

I did once do a "rustoration" on a '56 DeSoto. I had to fabricate the body panels. It was a labor of love since I drove it when I was a kid. It is a permanent resident in the MTHOP.

Everything that can rust on this BN1, has rusted. Some parts may be fixable but this is far beyond my patience level. This AH will have to find another home but I'm happy to have saved it from the crusher. The view from the right is not quite as good as the left. Someone used a metal shear to cut away parts of the fender and door. Maybe they were going to fix it? Maybe there were cutting it up for scrap metal??

This late '54 car seems very restorable. Please save it! It just has a severe case of "normal Austin-Healey rust". A replacement chassis from Kilmatin or Jule will sort it out! The side screens shown are not the early type as shown in zblu's post. A 100 of this age will have screens with soft plastic windows surrounded by vinyl and an openable flap.
My 100 is slightly older than this one and has Austin of England on the boot lid, but also has reflector pods.
 
Further to my earlier post: Zblu, I believe the first 4 digits are the "batch number" on the ID plate and the latter 4 the "body number". The voltage regulator seem to be different from original, should have a black plastic body.

I just looked up the replacement chassis and it is fantastic!!! You would have to be an insane masochist not to go that route in restoring a rusty Healey. Any preference in maker? I see the complete Jule unit is $8K. Does someone know the price for the Kilmartin unit? Thanks for the tip!!

If it stays here(?) I have found the fortitude to tackle the fix!

It is up on the block. I have too many projects and not enough time, space, or spousal approval. Of course, I could trade the wife for one of those complete chassis kits!! If it is a no sale, I'll see if she is game.

I still have my eyes on a big Healey nearby that is complete and in much better condition.

There was a lot there; ferrous and ferric oxides!! But the trim and gauges were there. I think the big aluminum panels would be worth the price to someone who needed them.
